Backdoor Into Luxuriance
January 2007
Oil painting on canvas - 80x120 cm
That word .. Luxuriance... had been running in my head for days like an intriguing leitmotiv...
painting it out seemed the most natural and only way to shut the voice.

Some feel like it's water, some like it's air. It might be in between.

This is just strange, here I was yesterday thinking about you and your paintings and I was wondering when the new one will come, and with whole anticipation opening this website, to my joy, there is something new!
I love this painting, beyond words. The vast greenery in the painting is such a beautiful thing!

This is another amazing piece, I am truly inspired! I love the effects on every part of this painting, it looks so realistic, yet you have added a whimsical look to it. It's very beautiful, and I really enjoy the expression on the woman's face; a wild, joyful expression with a touch of nervousness? Stunning...I will stop now.
What is your inspiration?

Insides, Nature, Music, Reverie, Love I guess... sometimes I received flashes in my head, like a photograph of a finished painting. Thereafter I'd try by best to keep this image in mind and transfer it into words, shapes, colors.

I absolutely love your work! I wish I could paint as well. Have you always known you wanted to be an artist? You are quite obviously naturally gifted, but did you ever have to practise?
I like how much detail and feeling your paintings have. I hope your paintings bring you as much joy as they do for me to see them.

Kids at school said that I would be an illustrator when I'd grow up. But of course I had to practice, a lot, and I always will. The road is long and I think one must absolutely keep his humility, and work as much as possible to expect, someday, being worth his natural gifts.
I'm glad that my paintings brought you joy. To me they are...more important than anything actually.

I started to paint with oils real late, I was 22 already. It's mainly hard work and a lot of patience, certainly not something I was born with. You can do it as well, you teaser :)
