Dance me to your beauty

Lundi 18 Février 2008
Some things are so precious
but you ignore that
until you realize they were stolen from you.
I'll have my identity back.
And the heart that doesn't ache no more
But it's calling
Oh it's calling
And I muted it all over and over.
Rage and revenge boiling
But I think wait. Wait still a little bit
I'll have my identity back.
Because I painted this morning
saying farewell to all duty
With that strength carved on the forehead
Brushes in my hand
Long time no see
Scary how they melt with my fingers instantly
And suddenly a single breath feels like falling from hundredth floor
The devilish touch pierces the shields and the boiling urges. To hold on or to collapse.
How do I still contain?

And this song by L.Cohen
Just heard a blues version by Madeleine Peyroux
So soothing in morning hesitations; it lets you understand how much all can be wrong.

Dance me to your beauty with a burning violin
Dance me through the panic 'til I'm gathered safely in
Lift me like an olive branch and be my homeward dove
Dance me to the end of love
Dance me to the end of love

Oh let me see your beauty when the witnesses are gone
Let me feel you moving like they do in Babylon
Show me slowly what I only know the limits of
Dance me to the end of love
Dance me to the end of love
me to the wedding now, dance me on and on
Dance me very tenderly and dance me very long
We're both of us beneath our love, we're both of us above
Dance me to the end of love
Dance me to the end of love

Dance me to the children who are asking to be born
Dance me through the curtains that our kisses have outworn
Raise a tent of shelter now, though every thread is torn
Dance me to the end of love

Dance me to your beauty with a burning violin
Dance me through the panic till I'm gathered safely in
Touch me with your naked hand or touch me with your glove
Dance me to the end of love
Dance me to the end of love
Dance me to the end of love

Flushed Chest

Vendredi 25 Mai 2007
This song by Joan As Police Woman is bringing tears to my eyes. I was played around a hundred times today. I don't know what exactly it's dealing with, but it goes straight into my heart and through my skin.
Morning Bird I'll wait for you. How could I not?

i saw you tonight
through the dim twilight
it was deep deep summer
with that yellow moon
and you were sleeping

i saw you tonight
you were in your ghost
singing white christmas
how you know
it's before me

it's your song
so divine
dying time
is a part
of your laughter

i saw you today
selling all your clothes
you were done with hollywood
the waterfall was rushing
through you

i saw you today
run away finally
coastal envy got you
and we got you
blazing

it's your song
so divine
it was time
for the spread
of your laughter

greet me with flushed chest again
morning bird i'll wait for you
how could i not?
how could i not?

greet me with flushed chest again
morning bird i'll wait for you
how could i not?
how could i not?

i saw you the morning
the early green
took the back seat
and cream the dream is you
has begun

i saw you so early
in the whisky dark
your eyes were brightest black
you were not going back
it was your living

it's your song
from the past
it was back
for the start
of your laughter

greet me with flushed chest again
morning bird i'll wait for you
how could i not?
how could i not?

greet me with flushed chest again
morning bird i'll wait for you
how could i not?
how could i not?

Mal assis

Mardi 9 Mai 2006
Pauline Croze "Mal Assis"

Une chaise renversée
Et mes jambes qui s'égarent
Ton visage s'est inversé
Sous le plafond de ces bas

Une vie trop bien rangée
Apprivoise chaque soir
L'imminence redoutée
D'une chute obligatoire

J'ai cette vie à l'endroit
Qui se dresse sans un pli
Des rêveries à l'étroit
Qui se pressent dans l'oubli

Je veux aimer à l'envers
Remarcher dans les faux pas
De mes amours de travers
Qui me suivent pas à pas

C'est vrai
Qu'on est mal assis, là
Qu'on est mal assis

Repasser dans le désert
Des errances d'autrefois
Redevenir solitaire
Comme un oiseau vu d'en bas
Quand j'aurais fait le chemin
A rebours de mes déboires
Je pourrais penser enfin
Au projet de me rasseoir

C'est vrai
Qu'on est mal assis, là
Qu'on est mal assis
Qu'on est mal assis, là
Qu'on est mal assis...
